The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) is a global partnership of organizations engaged in agricultural research for sustainable development. Established in 1971, the CGIAR aims to reduce poverty and hunger, improve human health and nutrition, and enhance ecosystem resilience through high-quality agricultural research, partnerships and knowledge sharing.
CGIAR centers collaborate with governments, NGOs, universities and the private sector to develop and promote innovative solutions to agricultural challenges, particularly those related to food security and climate change. They conduct research on crops, livestock, fisheries, agroforestry and other aspects of agricultural systems, with a focus on developing countries.
