The Institut Sénégalais de Recherches Agricoles (ISRA) is unique in that it conducts research in four areas of production (crops, livestock, forestry and fisheries) and on socio-economics, giving it a broad agricultural vocation.
The institute operates in Senegal’s six eco-geographical zones, thanks to a dense infrastructure comprising regional centers, national laboratories, research and production units, and Support Points for Extension and Multilocal Experimentation (PAPEM).

ISRA is administered as follows:
– A Board of Directors (BOD), which is the deliberative body, made up of representatives of the various ministries that collaborate with ISRA, POs, the CST, social partners and a representative of the President of the Republic or the Prime Minister. The Board is chaired by an elected member.
